Application Preparation
Document Checklist by Grant Type
Last reviewed: April 2026
Document quality is often the hidden driver of application speed and confidence. Even when the portal workflow is straightforward, teams lose momentum when corporate records, quotations, financial documents, and implementation support are scattered.
Core set for most applications
Prepare and organise:
- company profile and legal entity details
- applicant access and authorisation arrangements
- recent financial information
- project summary and rationale
- quotations and vendor scope
- budget with line-by-line explanation
- implementation plan and owner list
By grant type
| Stage | Description |
|---|---|
| PSG-style projects | Focus on solution fit, valid timing, quotation quality, and a clean explanation of how the solution addresses the operational problem. |
| EDG-style projects | Expect heavier emphasis on project narrative, deliverables, milestones, and cost logic. |
| MRA-style projects | Expect market rationale, activity details, target-market specificity, and export-readiness evidence. |
Minimum acceptable evidence
As a working rule:
- every material claim should have some supporting record
- every cost line should connect to a deliverable or project activity
- every stated outcome should be measurable or at least observable
- every vendor proposal should be understandable by someone outside the vendor
Organisation method
Use one shared structure:
- 01 corporate
- 02 financials
- 03 project narrative
- 04 vendor documents
- 05 budget workings
- 06 implementation and adoption
- 07 claim evidence
Important note
Note
The weakest document pack is usually not the one with too few pages. It is the one where the documents do not support the story being told.
