Application Preparation
Interview or Clarification Preparation
Last reviewed: April 2026
Not every application requires an interview, but many teams do receive clarification questions. The main mistake is treating those questions as casual admin follow-up. In reality, clarification responses can materially affect how the application is understood.
Likely question categories
Expect questions around:
- project necessity
- budget and cost logic
- implementation timing
- vendor choice
- expected outcomes
- internal capability to deliver
Answer structure
Use this simple structure:
- direct answer
- evidence or rationale
- implication for the project
- reference to supporting record where relevant
Preparation checklist
- nominate one response owner
- align internal stakeholders on key facts
- keep a clean evidence pack ready
- answer only what is asked, but answer it clearly
- avoid creating contradictions with the original submission
Important note
Note
Clarification responses should improve confidence, not reopen project design.
